Edwards to race with BC Performance in five-round 2026 season

Tom Edwards will return to the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) paddock in 2026, signing with Kawasaki to contest the SuperSport Next Gen category with the BC Performance team.
After multiple seasons competing on the world stage in the FIM World Supersport Championship, Edwards brings a wealth of international experience back to Australian soil — and he’s eager to make an impact.
“This feels like the right move at the right time,” Edwards said.
“I’m really excited to back on a Kawasaki for the first time since I was in the World SuperSport 300’s, and BC Performance has built a competitive package. I’m ready to put everything I’ve learned in World Supersport into this championship.”
The 2026 ASBK season will feature five rounds before transitioning to a new summer-based calendar format in October for a 2026-2027 season, marking a significant shift for the championship and creating an exciting reset moment for teams and riders alike.
For Edwards, the move represents an exciting step in his career.
“I’ve grown a lot as a rider over the past few years. Racing overseas teaches you resilience, discipline, and how to adapt quickly. I’m bringing that experience back with me,” he said.
“I’m not here to participate — I’m here to win.”
BC Performance Team Manager Kelvin Reilly welcomed Edwards to the squad, confident that his international race craft and professionalism will elevate the program in 2026.
With pre-season preparations already underway, Edwards is focused on building momentum from Round 1 and positioning himself as a serious championship contender in the highly competitive SuperSport Next Gen field.
The 2026 campaign promises close racing, new rivalries, and a refreshed energy within the championship.
