End of Season Wrap-Up

Tom Edwards finishes the 2024 World SuperSport Series on a high

Young Australian rider, Tom Edwards has had an impressive debut season in the World SuperSport Challenge this year, finishing the season as vice-champion in the Challenge series, a series that competes at the European rounds of the World SuperSport Championship.

Edwards showed just how competitive he is on the world stage, showing remarkable talent and speed. He did the home crowd proud, claiming top-performing Aussie in the World SuperSport class for 2024.

Edwards finished the season on a high in Portimao, claiming a double 1st in the Challenge Series, boasting YART Yamaha’s strongest SuperSport performance weekend of the season.

“It was great to finish the season on a high. Racing with a brand new team in a World Championship series comes with its challenges but we proved just how strong we were as a team and we can be really proud of our efforts this year,” Edwards said.

Edwards stunned the racing world early in the season when he claimed an epic P4 starting spot on the grid in Barcelona. He was also often the top speedster in every session this year.

Edwards has been a regular in the World SuperSport points tally, claimed multiple 1st victories in the Challenge series and says looks forward to keeping the momentum into the 2024 season.

“It’s been great to be back in the WorldSBK paddock this year and testing myself against some of the most talented riders in the world.”

“Being my rookie season, it was a huge learning year for me. Nearly every track on the calendar this year was the first time I was on a 600 there, so I was starting most weekends on the back foot but we still managed to get some great results.”

“Riding at this level has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, so it’s been unreal to be here and I’m so grateful for the opportunity. This is just the beginning,” Edwards says.

Edwards' performance in the World SuperSport Challenge has undoubtedly put him on the map as one of the most promising young motorcycle racers in the world. Fans can't wait to see what he will accomplish in the years to come.
