Race Preview: Magny-Cours

Race weekend is here! After a short summer break hiatus Aussie #71 Tom Edwards returns to world stage in Magny-Cours, France for Round 8 of the World SuperSport Season.

A string of bad luck has riddled Edwards Challenge Campaign, with cases of wrong place, wrong time and technicals resulting in the Challenge series lead to sway to rivalry Simone Corsi.

Tom spent the 3-week break training both physically and mentally, and is returning ready to fight to the finish and take his Ducati Panigale V2 and the D34G Racing Team to the top.

Tom Edwards:
“Looking forward to being back on the bike after a little break. I’ve had some time to shake off a rough run and get mentally focused for the last part of the season.

I’m excited for Magny-Cours as it’s a track that I’ve had strong results at in the past. I think the team and I understand what we need to do to make the next step within myself and the bike.
Looking forward to seeing what we can do this weekend.”

With only 5 points separating Edwards from leading the challenge series, it’s set to be an epic weekend of racing.

Weekend Goals:

  • Get comfortable and in a good flow on the bike again
  • Execute a strong strategy in free practice and qualifying to set us up for the weekend
  • Be running up the front with our elbows out, knowing that we should be there
