Tommy's Blog: 2024 Wrap-up

Hi Supporters,

That’s a wrap on the 2024 season. It’s been a huge year. This season has been the most difficult for me mentally, a lot of highs and definitely a lot of lows. But I've learnt so much and I'm so grateful to be on this ride.

I ended up finished 2nd overall in the World SuperSport Challenge and I'll be honest, it was a really disappointing way to finish the season. It wasn’t till the final two rounds we lost the lead and ultimately the Challenge.

In the second last round of the season in Estoril, there was already a yellow flag out from another riders crash, I came through really slow and the bike slid out from no where and high sided me. My body slid across the track and slammed straight into a stationary bike. This caused a lengthy red flag and I was transported to medical. Luckily no broken bones but weeks later writing this, I’m still recovering. It was difficult to get on the bike and ride straight after it happened, I did the best I could but it wasn't easy. I have been in a lot of pain the last couple weekends, glad to finally be able to give my body some time to heal now.

It’s easy to wonder what might have been if I was full fitness these last two rounds, wasn’t taken out by other riders, had technicals or a slip of my own in other rounds but we know that’s racing and there is only so much that we can control.

We started the season so strong. After a technical ruled out my first practice session of the season back in Barcelona, with only 13 laps under my belt I finished Qualifying in 13th position.

Round 2 in Assen was our highest point of the season. I got a career best result of P5 and for the first time in my career lead both World SuperSport races. This got my confidence right up for the season and with such a big lead in the Challenge I decided to make my main focus the World SuperSport Championship where I finished 19th in the World.

We had some really solid point scoring results through out the season which we can be really proud of.

A big highlight of my season has been life on the road. I was lucky enough to have some Dutch friends help us out and get a camper. Which has come with some really awesome adventures and memories made.

Overall, this year has been a massive learning journey on and off the track. Where I feel like I’ve stepped up as a professional racer and know I have so much more to give.

We’ve got a few things in the works for 2025 but keeping our options open. I’ve got some contracts on the table for the World SuperSport but trying to find something within our budget has been a challenge. I had also hoped to make the jump over the States and do some road racing and flat track but learning now that a season there even more expensive than the Worlds.

Hoping to know more soon once we lock in a few sponsors for 2025.

Big thank you to everyone who has supported me this year. My sponsors, my family, my friends and the community. Really looking forward to giving you a 2025 update soon.
